Miley Cyrus shocks fans by revealing she will no longer do major tours

Pop culture icon Miley Cyrus recently took her fans and the music industry by surprise with a shocking revelation. In addition to fully funding her famous “Bangerz Tour,” the singer said she has no plans to do any more large-scale touring.

This news caused quite an uproar and raised many questions about the reasons behind this change of direction, including the impact of the Bangerz era on his career.

The success of the “Bangerz Tour”

In 2014, Miley Cyrus embarked on the “Bangerz” tour, which became a global phenomenon. The Bangerz Tour, which spanned the entire year of 2014, featured 78 shows over an eight-month period, including two dates in Brazil. It ranked as the 16th highest-grossing tour of that year.

On Sunday's (3) episode of her TikTok series called “Used to Be Young,” the 30-year-old artist shared how she fully funded her Bangerz tour, emphasizing that both she and her fans deserved a special experience.

However, she revealed that the tour didn't make her a dime. Despite being a huge success, the artist didn't see any profits from the tour as she personally financed the entire production, which left her with a unique experience but also a substantial financial burden.

The singer addressed details of the financial aspect of this monumental tour, given the little support she received for her plans, she decided to move forward on her own and did not earn a penny from this tour because she wanted it to be incredible.

When asked why she made such an investment, given that the tour would consist of around 100 shows and would not bring a guaranteed financial return, her answer was simple: she said that there was no one she would rather invest in than herself. In this way, Miley paid for everything to provide exactly what she believed both she and her fans deserved.

The end of long tours and huge audiences

Miley Cyrus has re-evaluated her music career and come to the conclusion that she no longer wants to tour on a large scale, prioritizing her own artistic fulfillment over meeting the expectations of others.

In an interview with Vogue UK, Cyrus shared her decision to no longer tour extensively. She even joked that the nearly nine-year gap since her last full-length tour (Bangerz) actually feels like “a minute.”

After that period, Miley Cyrus chose not to tour extensively anymore. Since her last performance in South America, which included a performance at Lollapalooza Brazil in March of last year, she has only made two live appearances: one at the Corona Capital festival in Mexico in November, and another at her New Year's Eve event in late 2022.

Bangerz was released on October 4, 2013, and includes two of Miley Cyrus' biggest hits: “We Can't Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”. Additionally, the album was nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Pop Vocal Album” in 2014.
