Mortal Kombat 1 is announced and will be released on September 19

Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios today announced Mortal Kombat 1, the newest installment in the acclaimed fighting game franchise, which has sold over 80 million copies since its debut more than 30 years ago. The launch will take place on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

The upcoming game will feature a reborn Mortal Kombat universe that was created by the God of Fire Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of the iconic characters as never seen before.

Story Mode returns with a narrative that promises to be cinematic and immersive, reimagining classic rivalries and featuring all-new character origin stories. The fighters already confirmed are Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung and Johnny Cage, but there will be others that will be revealed in the coming months.

Mortal Kombat 1 also debuts the Kameo Fighters, a roster of partner characters that can assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players.

Starting tomorrow, May 19, Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for digital pre-order in Brazil in the following editions:

• Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition – Standard edition that gives you access to the game.

• Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition – Special Edition that gives access to the game as well as the Kombat Pack, early access from September 14th and 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency). The Kombat Pack features a Johnny Cage character skin featuring the likeness of famous actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme (available at launch), early access to six new playable characters (available after launch) and five new Kameo Fighters ( available after release).

In Brazil, all Mortal Kombat 1 digital pre-orders will receive Shang Tsung as a playable character, and those who pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series will also receive access to the Mortal Kombat 1 Beta, which will be available in August 2023 .
