Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 80 million copies
This means that, as pointed out by the website TweakTownMortal Kombat is the best-selling fighting game franchise in history, ahead of Super Smash Bros., which appears in second place with just over 72 million copies sold.
After him comes Tekken with 54 million and only in fourth place is Street Fighter, with 49 million.
