Murilo's possible return leaves doubt in Palmeiras' line-up for Derby

This Monday (4), Palmeiras faces Corinthians at Neo Química Arena in the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship. In second place, Verdão continues to hunt Botafogo, which is three points ahead.

For the classic, coach Abel Ferreira will count on the return of important players who can reinforce the team.

Returns

Murilo, who had an injury to his thigh adductor muscle detected on October 18th, trained normally during the week and is no longer part of the club's DM. As a result, fans expect the defender to return to the team's starting lineup, replacing the young Vitor Reis, who had been playing in his place. However, as he is still improving his physical side, Murilo may start the match on the bench.

Absent from the draw against Fortaleza, midfielder Aníbal Moreno and full-back Marcos Rocha will also be available for tonight's Derby. The two received their third yellow card in Verdão's penultimate match in the Brasileirão, against Juventude, and served an automatic suspension in the last round.

Situation of injured people

The only ones who remain out are the players with the most serious injuries. Striker Bruno Rodrigues underwent surgery on his left knee after suffering an injury during a training game in May. The player has been showing good progress in his treatment, but his return to the field is only expected in the 2025 pre-season.

Left-back Piquerez went through a similar situation. In July, against Botafogo, the Uruguayan suffered an injury to the meniscus in his left knee and underwent surgery. However, his evolution was faster than Bruno's, and the player has already trained with the ball at the club's CT. There is the expectation of returning this season, in the final stretch of the Brasileirão.

Probable lineup

With these considerations, Verdão only has doubts in the defense, and the likely lineup for the classic is: Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Vitor Reis (Murilo), Gustavo Gómez and Caio Paulista; Aníbal Moreno, Richard Ríos and Raphael Veiga; Felipe Anderson, Estêvão and Flaco López.
