NAVE space brings line-up with artists from the Amazon

THE Rock in Rio announced this Friday (26) the programming of the NAVE space, presenting a line-up composed only of artists from Amazonas. The list includes: Guitarrada das Manas, DJs from Surreal Crocodilo, Fafá de Belém, Aíla, Mestre Solano, Nic Dias, Nelson D and Patrícia Bastos, Uyra, Roberta Carvalho, Pantera Black, Victor Xamã, Rafael BQueer, Suraras do Tapajós and Keila . The attraction has Roberta Carvalho as artistic director and Aíla is responsible for the musical direction.

There will be in-person shows on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 10th and 11th of September and the virtual shows projected at the Olympic arena will be on the 8th and 9th. On every day of the exhibition the works of visual artists Gabriel Bicho, PV dias, Elisclésio Makuxi , Roberta Carvalho, Yaka Hunikuin, Gê Viana, Rafael BQueer, Denilson Baniwa, Uýra Sodoma and Keila Sankofa will be projected in what promises to be an immersive multi-sensory experience with the Amazon as its theme. Roberta Carvalho commented to the magazine Tangerine that the objective was to showcase a multiple region with the presence of artists from the nine Amazonian states and represent all the cultural facets of the territory, bringing the focus to the people and not the biome.

In addition to the artistic presentations, activists Dona Nice, Beka Munduruku, Zélia Amador, Samela Saterá Mawé and Angela Mendes will participate in the projections with speeches about the importance of Amazonian identity, the diversity of original peoples and forest preservation. The collective Abacaxi Urbano Crew and the visual content created by Lucas Mariano will participate in the dialogue with the exhibition's musical performances. The NAVE will be active during the seven days of the event at Arena 3.

The NAVE space was presented for the first time at Rock in Rio 2019 in an exhibition that connected the past, present and future. In 2022, the project is being carried out in partnership with Nature and is not limited to the City of Rock, with projections being made by the city of Rio de Janeiro as a dissemination strategy.
