New film with Russell Crowe confuses symbol of Dragon Age Inquisition with that of the Spanish Inquisition

It is true that many Hollywood films are currently taking inspiration from video games, but The Exorcist of the Pope (2023), the newest feature film with actor Russell Crowe, went a little too far in trying to show a reference to the Spanish Inquisition.

Instead of using the correct inquisition symbol, the film features the symbol invented by Electronic Arts and BioWare in Dragon Age Inquisition. The discovery was shared on Twitter by user Kelgrid.

Now the question remains: How did this bizarre error go unnoticed? Did they let an AI take care of the historical search and it ended up finding more results from Dragon Age Inquisition than the Spanish Inquisition when searching for the symbol? Or was it just the mistake of a careless employee who didn’t use Google properly?

The movie premiered in early April, so it’s a surprise that it took so long for anyone to notice this and share it on social media.
