New films, series and actors confirmed!

This Tuesday (31), the co-presidents of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran, gave the first details about the 1st phase of the DC Universe, which will be called “Gods and Monsters”. So far, 11 productions have been announced, which include materials for cinema and TV. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman will get new films. Furthermore, features that had been previously announced, such as Aquaman 2, Shazam 2, The Flash and Blue Beetle, will also be part of DC Universe.

Furthermore, Safran and Gunn made it clear that actors Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (Flash) and Zachary Levi (Shazam) are more than welcome to reprise their roles. Robert Pattinson, the eternal Edward Cullen and the current Batman, has an uncertain future in the franchise. Despite returning as the famous bat in “The Batman: Part II,” the film is not part of the DC Universe, and Pattinson is not confirmed to play Batman in “The Bold and The Brave,” a feature film that will take place within the DC Universe.

Henry Cavill, who has played the Man of Steel since 2013 in the productions “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Justice League,” “Black Adam” and “Zack Snyder's Justice League ,” stated that he will not play the character again. The actor's replacement has not yet been announced.

Supergirl: World of Tomorrow

According to Gunn, the adaptation will be from the comics of the heroine of the same name and will show “a very different version” of the heroine.

Batman II

Directed by Matt Reevs and confirmed for October 3, 2025, the film is the sequel to 2022's Batman.

Booster Gold

The series will treat the hero Golden Gladiator as the main character of the plot, which will be made by the streaming platform HBO Max.

Waller

Spin-off of Peacemaker, the series will have Viola Davis as the protagonist and will also be made by HBO.

Creature Commandos

Unlike most DCU productions so far, the production was announced as an animated series and will feature Rick Flag Sr., Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus, Bride of Frankenstein, Weasel, GI Robert and Eric Frankestein as the main characters.

Lanterns

With a detective format, the series is considered one of the main productions for the new phase of the franchise.

Superman: Legacy

Also scheduled for 2025, the film will be written by James Gunn himself.

Paradise Lost

Set on Wonder Woman's home island, the series will take place before her birth. Saffran revealed that the plot will address “intriguing politics behind a society run by women”.

The Brave and The Bold

The film will show the relationship between Bruce Wayne and his son Damian, who will be the new Robin.

The Authority

The adaptation of the comic book of the same name will tell the story of a group seen as a “hardcore” version of the Justice League.

Swamp Thing

The horror film was confirmed as the film that will close the first phase of the DCU and will feature Swamp Thing as its protagonist.
