New Netflix Horror Franchise Confirmed

Netflix had announced a few months ago that they were developing more films based on RL Stine's famous literary saga. 'Street of Fear'.

This saga is currently made up of three films called “Rua do Medo”, the first was released on July 2, 2021 in the USA, this first part of the trilogy takes place in 1994 and tells the story of a historic city with hunting of supernatural beings. The second was released on July 8, 2021 in Los Angeles, this second part takes place in 1978 and brings in its story a camp full of mysteries that would be unraveled by the characters during the plot. And the third was released on July 16, 2021 also in the USA, this last part takes place in 1666, bringing in its plot a group of students who during their journey discover a series of catastrophic events in their city. The 'Rua do Medo' trilogy brings three connected stories, but in different times, different contexts.

This new film will be directed by filmmaker Chloe Okuno, who is well known for her work on the thriller 'Watcher' and for having directed one of the segments in the recent anthology 'V/H/S/94'.

Chernin Entertainment plans to achieve the same good performance as the other films in the saga, given that the original trilogy was produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and David Ready.

The author of the books that were the basis for the trilogy commented in an interview that he heard rumors about the return of the saga. And he also confirmed, with exclusive sources, that it was not just Netflix that was producing new films for the saga, and that its production was already well advanced.

Further information about the plot and cast of the new feature film has not been released so far.
