The New pension in France – The current president of France Emmanuel Macron is experiencing pressure in his country with the demonstrations, according to him the demonstration is compared with the acts of January 8 in Brasilia. The reform was presented on January 10 by Minister Élisabeth Borne and thirteen days later it was approved by the council of ministers. Macron alleges that reform is necessary because if this does not happen, they are at risk as they continue to finance credit.
Points of the new pension in France
Contribution time will increase by three months, in 2027 the person will have to have worked 43 years and have the minimum retirement age which will increase to 64 years, and to be entitled to full retirement the French person will need to be within these parameters.
People who have some kind of problem that prevents them from working will be able to work up to the age of 62, those with some kind of disability will be able to stop working at 55. For the military nothing has changed.
Macron dismissed the acts as extreme violence and said “When the United States went through what happened on Capitol Hill, when Brazil went through this, when there was extreme violence in Germany or the Netherlands, or with us in the past, we must say that we respect, we listen, we want to move the country forward, and that is why I want to discuss this reform, but we cannot accept factions”
This reform caused the indignation of thousands of French people, an average of 1.1 million people took to the streets against the proposal (19 January). With this, the subway was harmed, tourist points that were closed.
