Nick Cave comes up with book

Nick Cave is coming up with a book about the years after the death of his son Arthur, writes The Guardian. The boy died six years ago at the age of fifteen.

The 63-year-old Cave speaks for the book Faith, Hope and Carnage for more than forty hours with Observerjournalist Sean O’Hagan.

Arthur died in the summer of 2015 after falling off a cliff in Brighton, UK. Cave has given few interviews since then. A period of reflection and the corona pandemic ensured that there will now be a book.

“It was a strange but great pleasure to talk to Sean O’Hagan in these uncertain times,” said the musician, who has known O’Hagan for some thirty years. “This is a book of intimate and often surprising conversations in which Nick Cave talks honestly about his life, his music and its dramatic transformation,” the journalist adds.

Cave has written several books in the past, including two novels. Since 2018, he has been sending newsletters to his fans under the name The Red Hand Files, in which he answers questions about his career and his private life.
