Nicki Minaj releases new hit Last Time I Saw You with perfect mix of pop and rap

This Saturday (01), rapper Nicki Minaj released the hit “”Last Time I Saw You”, on all digital platforms. In this new single, the Trinidadian singer born in the United States, combined pop, rap and mixed it all with a dose of engaging choruses.

Perfect mix

In this new track, the singer laments about an unrequited love, but one that she wishes had come true.

Although the track has a foot in rap, the musical style that made it famous, what captures the listener in the song is its melody that quickly gets into the head, another difference of the song is the simple, but efficient production.

As this is the first sample of “Pink Friday 2”, it is not yet known whether the rest of the album will follow the same path. The fact is that fans are eager for more from the new project, especially if we take into account that this is the first album that the rapper will release after five years. The full release of the album is scheduled for November 17th.

Successful partnership

Shortly before the release of the live-action “Barbie”, Nicki released the single that is part of the film’s soundtrack, “Barbie World”, in partnership with fellow rapper Ice Spice.

The single involves the listener in an atmosphere of nostalgia and mixes current female rap with the classic “Barbie Girl” by the group Aqua. However, overturning the stereotype about the most famous doll in the world, Nicki and Ice's hit features a sexy Barbie , powerful and who knows what she wants.

“Barbie World”, “Last Time I Saw You” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” make up the trinity of songs released by Nicki Minaj in 2023.
