North West is the first Kardashian with all the attention – The Kardashian family can’t take a step or the paparazzi are ready to take a picture. With every visit to a store or amusement park, fans want to take a picture with the reality stars. The adult Kardashians have worked hard for that attention, but the new generation has never asked for the spotlight. North West is done with it.
“Stop,” North West writes on a sign as she sits at the front of a fashion show with her mother. The message is directed at the paparazzi. She’s only nine years old, and there are few moments in North’s life that haven’t been captured.

From an early age, she has been going to fashion shows with her parents, Kim Kardashian and rapper Ye, and can be seen on her family’s social media. She was also seen in the reality series around the family.
There are rules, her mother has previously told us. North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm can only be seen in the reality series with the permission of both parents and especially not too often.
Photos where the children stand up only go on social media if both Kim and Ye have given approval and the children do not (yet) have any accounts themselves.

Yet North was only two years old when she already made known all the attention what much to find. A video from 2015 shows How North arrives with her nanny at a dance studio where a dozen photographers are waiting. North walks in a tutu, ready for class, and clearly has little interest in attention. “I said: no pictures!”
A year later, North is then three years old, her mother shares a video of the toddler. “No pictures!”, North shouts as she lies nestled under a huge fur coat. “Why?”, her mother asks. But the toddler is already sliding off the couch.
In the years that followed, North’s feelings came to the fore more often. A good example is when she is in New York with her family as a six-year-old.
The cameras of the family’s reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, follow mother and daughter. Dozens of people stand still on the street to see the two. “Why are there so many people taking pictures of us?” asks North her mother.
North doesn’t know yet how special her childhood really is, Kim Kardashian tells Jimmy Kimmel in 2019. “Kourtney (Kim’s sister, ed.) and I’ve talked a little bit with our kids about what we do. As they get older, we will continue that conversation.”

“Leave us alone!”
Kim’s daughter is not the only one of the new generation to speak out against the attention. Kourtney’s children have also indicated that they do not like the spotlight. “Leave us alone,” seven-year-old Reign shouted to paparazzi not so long ago. And twelve-year-old Mason has asked his mother not to post any more pictures of him on social media.
Kourtney listens to her son, but North continues to go to fashion shows and moments where paparazzi lurk. Maybe she doesn’t mind as much as she shows. (North West is the first Kardashian to be done with all the attention)
“Anyone who knows North knows how funny she thinks this is,” Kim wrote in a video showing her daughter with the Stop sign. And yet: North keeps repeating it. “Stop chasing us.”
