The Public Prosecutor's Office of São Paulo and the State Secretariat of Public Security have banned Mancha Alviverde, the main organized fan group of Palmeiras, from entering stadiums in the state of São Paulo for a period of 30 days. The decision, which came into effect this Thursday (15), was taken due to an incident between fans after the match between Palmeiras and Flamengo last week.
Reason for the ban
The measure was adopted after a brawl between fans that occurred during the match between Palmeiras and Flamengo last Saturday (08). At the time, Palmeiras fans threw bottles that injured two people, including a 23-year-old woman, who had to be hospitalized in a serious condition.
The origin of the confusion was the presence of Flamengo fans near the ticket office of sector 'A' of Allianz Parque, which caused outrage among Palmeiras fans who were outside the stadium. Due to the severity of the incident, the authorities decided to intervene, communicating the decision to the São Paulo Football Federation, which promptly accepted it and published it in an official ordinance.

Impact on Upcoming Games
Palmeiras fans will be able to attend games as normal, but members of the club's largest fan base, Mancha Alviverde, are prohibited from displaying any uniforms, flags or any other objects that identify them. The measure is valid in all stadiums in the state of São Paulo. The decision will already be in effect in the next two decisive games in which Palmeiras will be the home team.
Next Sunday (18), Alviverde will play the classic against São Paulo for the Brazilian Championship, and next Wednesday (21), for the Conmebol Libertadores, the team will have to try to reverse the score against Botafogo to advance to the quarterfinals of the continental competition. In the first leg, Botafogo won 2×1 in Rio de Janeiro.
The punishment for the Mancha Alviverde fans ends on September 14, the day before the game against Criciúma in the Brazilian Championship, a match that, in principle, will mark the return of the organized fans to the stands in São Paulo.
