Paris Olympics closing ceremony marked by luxury and glamour

The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, on Sunday afternoon (11), was marked by an element unrelated to sport: fashion. In the most fashionable capital in the world, more than 9 thousand athletes participated in the event that featured a light show, music and haute couture. The closing ceremony also paved the way for the next Olympic capital: Los Angeles.

Fashion and style show

Just like the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony was marked by a mega event that paid tribute to the cultural diversity present in the Olympic Games and celebrated France. With light shows and several performances, the Olympic flame left the Tulieres Garden under the care of swimmer Leon Marchand, winner of four gold medals in Paris, heading to the Stade de France.

At the stadium, the performances took place as the Olympic flame made its way back, with performances by various artists and the traditional speech by the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Always luxurious, the fashion capital bid farewell to the Olympics serving glamour in impeccable costumes.

Opening for Los Angeles

At the end of the event, the traditional baton handover for the next Olympic host was made by the IOC president to the mayor of Los Angeles, marking the beginning of the cycle for 2028. After the performance of the United States anthem by HER, wearing an all-white look by Ralph Lauren, Tom Cruise entered the scene jumping from the roof of the stadium, in the best “Mission Impossible” style.

In the video, the transition to the Californian city was made, with shows by the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Billie Eilish stole the show by uniting styles, which was evident at the Olympics, especially in streetwear, by combining Ralph Lauren and Nike in a bold look.
