passenger plane crashed in southern China on Monday. No information is known about the condition of the 132 occupants, but the chances of having survivors appear minimal.

According to state broadcaster CCTV, the plane crashed in the countryside near Wuzhou, a city in the Guangxi region. FlightRadar24 shows that the plane, which was put into service in June 2015, made a nosedive near Wuzhou. At that city, the aviation authorities lost contact with the aircraft.

Nothing is yet known about the circumstances of the crash. Rescue workers have now arrived at the spot where the aircraft crashed. It is difficult to reach, because it is in the middle of a forest.

Fire engines cannot reach the location due to the dense vegetation, so firefighters have to continue on foot.
