Perrie Edwards, former member of Little Mix, announces first single from her solo career

This Tuesday (12), singer Perrie Edwards announced her new single, titled “Forget About Us”. For those who don't remember, Perrie is a former member of the group Little Mix.

Joining the other members who, after following different paths, embarked on a solo career, Perrie will release her first single. However, she left all her fans curious by not revealing any release date.

In a recent interview with Official Charts, Perrie revealed that there are Ed Sheeran's fingers on the track “Forget About Us“as he just sent her the song and said it would be her first single. From the moment that happened, Perrie just polished the song so that it became more authentic and could match her. It's worth mentioning that the artist's own song, “Shape Of You”, was written curiously thought to be by Little Mix.

The news doesn't stop, because Perrie's new album is also coming! In a recent interview with the same vehicle, the singer stated that one of the songs that will be on it will have strong references to pop star Bruno Mars, giving a hint of the style by citing the songs “Leave The Door Open” and “Chunky” as examples.

Perrie spoke about her solo career previously

Perrie Edwards had already given signs in 2022, in an interview with Official Charts, that she was investing in her own projects. At the time, he revealed that he was experimenting with different sounds and everything was going well.

Furthermore, the person who was also working with her during this time was Kamille, producer and composer responsible for tracks by the group Little Mix, such as “Shout Out to My Ex” and “Power”.

Jesy Nelson and exit

Jesy Nelson left the group in 2020, in order to take better care of her health and herself. Therefore, Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall remained in the group, who in 2021 unfollowed Jesy after the artist released her first single “Boyz“, along with Nicki Minaj.

It is worth mentioning that Jesy had already stopped following the three of them when she decided to pursue a solo career.

Official end of Little Mix

The Little Mix trio took a break in December 2021, with the justification that they needed to recharge and invest in other projects. When announcing their hiatus, the girls highlighted that the years they shared together were an endless adventure and that they were ten wonderful years. However, Little Mix officially ended its activities only in May 2022, as on the fateful May 14th the Little Mix girls were performing the last show of their career, in England.

Returning to the statement when they announced the break, the girls comforted the hearts of their fans by saying that they created several memories with them and that they were looking forward to creating many more. Leigh, Perrie and Jade also revealed in the same statement that Little Mix had future plans for tours and other shows in the future.
