?Planet Hemp Releases Video ?Meu Barrio with Rapper Trueno?

Continuing the promotion of the album “Jardineiros”, which marked the return of Planet Hemp After a 22-year hiatus, the group releases this Wednesday (08) the video for the track “My Neighborhood”, partnership with the Argentine rapper Trueno. The audiovisual production, already available on the Rio de Janeiro band's official YouTube channel, was recorded in the studio with the participation of the artists in settings that reference the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.

Signed by Cauã Csik – a director who, in addition to Marcelo D2, has also worked with Filipe Ret, Luísa Sonza and Ludmilla -, the music video features images of the members of Planet Hemp and Trueno performing the explosive energy of the track. Just as the title “Meu Barrio” and the lyrics of the track mix Portuguese and Spanish, the film is full of Brazilian and Argentine visual references – such as scenographic reproductions of iconic locations in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, such as the Arcos da Lapa and the neighborhood of La Boca, respectively -, as well as takes from both cities.

Despite the almost folkloric rivalry between Brazil and Argentina, “Meu Barrio” has as its central idea the similarities between the peripheral experiences of the two South American countries, showing that there are more similarities than differences. With Marcelo D2 and BNegão presenting rhymes in both languages, Trueno also takes a chance with words in Portuguese and introduces himself in the first verses as MC Trovão, a free translation of his artistic name.

A Latin urban music phenomenon, Trueno has achieved impressive numbers. At just 20 years old, he has over 10.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with the young rapper ranking 59th among the most listened to artists in Argentina in the Weekly Top. In addition, on the same audio platform, he appears with the album “Bien o Mal” in 22nd place on the charts in his home country. The same success is reflected on YouTube: with over 5.8 million subscribers, his official channel on the video platform has surpassed the mark of 1.4 billion views.

With a busy concert schedule, including several festivals, the band from Rio de Janeiro is confirmed to appear at Espaço Leste (São Paulo/SP, on 03/11), Circo Voador (Rio de Janeiro/RJ, on 03/17), Abertura Wu-Tang Clan – Arena Open Air – (São Paulo/SP, on 04/02), Breve Festival (Belo Horizonte/MG, on 04/22) and Festival MITA (Rio de Janeiro/RJ, on 05/27).
