Poland without Robert Lewandowski against Orange – Robert Lewandowski is missing on Saturday at Poland in the Nations League match against the Orange. The top striker of Bayern Munich gets a rest and is not in the match selection of the Polish team, according to the selections published by UEFA on Saturday. The Orange are missing Noa Lang and Vincent Janssen.
Polish national coach Czeslaw Michniewicz said friday at his press conference in De Kuip that the playing of Lewandowski was uncertain. After a long season at Bayern Munich, the striker is unable to play four full games in two weeks.
The 33-year-old Robert Lewandowski was Wednesday against Belgium (1-6) already to the side to save him for the duel with the Netherlands. Poland’s all-time top scorer scored the only Polish goal in Brussels.
“But we would also like to have him there when we play against Belgium again on Tuesday in front of our own audience,” Michniewicz said on Friday.
That appears to have been the deciding factor. Krzysztof Piatek and Karol Swiderski are the only forwards in the Polish match selection for the game against the Netherlands.

Long passed at Orange
At Orange, national coach Louis van Gaal Vincent Janssen and Noa Lang referred to the stands. The national coach had already announced at his press conference on Friday that Janssen would not play, because he had only reported to Zeist on Tuesday after his wedding in the United States.
Lang’s absence is striking. The attacker of Club Brugge was Wednesday still a basic player with the Orange, which thanks to a late goal by Wout Weghorst with a 1-2 win against Wales. Lang was pulled to the side a minute before time. He was not injured and also trained ‘just’ in Zeist on Friday.
Lang was the subject of discussion last week after a high-profile interview in the Belgian newspaper HLN. In it he announced his departure from Club Brugge.
“Next season you are going to pray that there is a Noa Lang walking around in Belgium, who can also play football so well,” he said.
The Netherlands-Poland starts saturday at 20.45 hours in De Kuip and is led by the Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler. With six points from the first two matches, the Orange team is the leader in the group.
