Prime video confirms “Second Intentions” adaptation of the 1999 classic

The new series is adapted based on the classic series from the 90s: “Cruel Intentions“(Cruel Intention). THE Prime Videoin April this year, confirmed the series according to TVLine.

Eight episodes will be shown for the first season. The project would have been produced for free streaming on Amazon (Freevee), but the producers ended up opting for Prime Video to launch the series. According to the Varietythe intention of the new adaptation of the series is to update the classic 1999 film, which was based on the book “Dangerous Liaisons” from Choderlos de Laclos.

The series is being developed by IMDbTV. With Phoebe Frisher in the script for the pilot episode alongside Sara Goodman from the original series of “Gossp Girl”. And Neal Moritz, producer of the original film, will serve as executive producer on the project.

THE Fox and the NBC They tried to adapt the film, but both productions ended up giving up or leaving it aside. The three rewritten episodes were aired on video called “Cruel Intentions 2”, in 2001, by Roger Phillipe. With the NBC It was no different when they announced a pilot episode and then gave up production in 2016.

Cruel Intentions it was a great success. The film grossed US$13,020,565 in its opening week in theaters.

Participating in the adaptation will be Sarah Catherine Hook (First Death), Zac Burgess (Boy Devours Universe), Brooke Lena Johnson (YOU), Sara Silva (The Boys), John Harlan Kim (9-1-1), Savannah Lee Smith (Gossip Girl) and Khobe Clarke (Friends Forever).

Ulterior Intentions

Set in Washington, the series will follow two cruel brothers who will do anything to stay at the top of the hierarchy at their elite college. When a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire system, they will do whatever it takes to preserve their power and reputation, including seducing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States.
