Prince and Princess of Wales send emotional message to Queen Camilla on her birthday

In a show of affection, the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton sent their greetings to Queen Camilla on her birthday, via their official Twitter account. The monarch celebrates her 76th birthday this Monday (17), marking a memorable date after her coronation.

The royal couple shared their congratulations on social media, showing their affection and respect for Queen Camilla. These warm gestures are appreciated by their subjects, who closely follow the royals' activities.

In celebration of Camilla's first birthday as Queen Consort of England, a spectacular 41-gun salute was performed by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery Battery in London's Green Park, and the Band of the Irish Guards played “Happy Birthday” during the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

Camilla's career as royalty was marked by several changes over the years, going from Charles' lover to the king's wife, now reaching the position of Queen Consort. This title is granted to the wife of the current king, although she plays a role distinct from that of the sovereign, without the same political and military powers.

According to tradition, Camilla would only receive the title of queen if she had been born into the British royal family, just like Elizabeth II, mother of Charles III, who became the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the United Kingdom.

The love story between Camilla and Charles began in 1971, when they met during a polo match in Windsor Great Park. After Charles' marriage to Princess Diana in 1981, the friendship between Camilla and Charles continued, and their marriage was made official in 2005, almost 35 years after their first meeting. Their relationship received public approval from Elizabeth II in 2022, shortly before her passing.
