Prince Philip’s funeral live on NOS
The memorial service for the British Prince Philip will be broadcast live by the NOS on Saturday afternoon from half past three, the broadcaster announced on Friday. Queen Elizabeth’s husband died at Windsor Castle last Friday at the age of 99.
Philip’s funeral is held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. On behalf of the NOS, correspondent Tim de Wit will report on the ceremony from Windsor. In the studio in Hilversum, presenter Astrid Kersseboom speaks with former correspondent Suse van Kleef.
Due to the corona pandemic, some measures were also taken at the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh. For example, during the service, only a choir of four singers is allowed to sing and the only thirty guests are not allowed to sing along. In addition, everyone is expected to wear a mouth mask. For that reason Queen Elizabeth is alone.
