Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have a Hindu celebration

Priyanka Chopra, 39, and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, celebrated an Indian ceremony of the Hindu religion called Diwali, known in India as the Festival of Lights, “and with the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi, we invite her grace and abundance into our home. Happy Diwali.” That's what the actress wrote on her Instagram account to show what the party is like. The photos show the actors sitting on the floor and surrounded by flowers while lighting a candle to honor the occasion.

She is currently in California and celebrated the date with her friends, one of whom is actress Mindy Kaling from the series The Office and The Morning Show. Like Chopra, Mindy is the daughter of Indians. They immigrated to the United States the exact year she was born. Indian culture is very rich in several aspects, strongly established in striking characteristics resulting from the way Indians live.

Diwali, the festival of lights, lasts 5 days and is celebrated by all Indians around the world. The celebration is about the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Religious people light candles called diyas, wear new clothes, eat sweets and set off fireworks.

Priyanka and Nick met in 2016 when he sent her a message on Twitter. She asked him to text the singer first, and he kept her phone number. They appeared together at the Met Gala. Their first real date was in 2018. Two months later, they got engaged, and in December, they got married in India in a luxurious double ceremony that reflected their beliefs: a Christian union and a Hindu wedding, which were both very beautiful.
