PSV against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Conference League

PSV will have to make do with a battered selection on Thursday in the first match against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Conference League. The people of Eindhoven have to miss the necessary players due to injuries and suspensions.

Maxi Romero, Ryan Thomas, Jenson Seet and André Ramalho are unavailable due to injury. Olivier Boscagli, Carlos Vinícius and Ibrahim Sangaré are suspended and therefore absent on Thursday.

PSV therefore only has Armando Obispo and Jordan Teze left as central defenders. For trainer Roger Schmidt, however, that is not a disaster. “If something happens, we have to be creative,” the German said at the press conference on Wednesday.

“New UEFA rules have given us these opportunities. We have to seize this with both hands. Tomorrow we want to achieve a good result, because Maccabi can also be a strong opponent in their own stadium with their own supporters,” said Schmidt.

The match between PSV and Maccabi Tel-Aviv starts on Thursday at 6.45 pm. The game has been brought forward to allow an audience to be present. The Philips Stadium will not be sold out yet, because the corona rules will only be relaxed on Friday.
