With Leicester City, PSV will face one of the toughest opponents in the last eight of the Conference League. ‘The Foxes’ are twelfth in the Premier League and in 2016 became national champion of England for the first time in the club’s history.

For Feyenoord, Slavia Prague is a well-known opponent: in the group stage of the Conference League, both clubs also faced each other. Feyenoord won the game in Rotterdam with 2-1 and was stuck in Prague on a 2-2 draw. Together they became first and second respectively in the pool.

Feyenoord and PSV could theoretically be linked in the quarter-finals in the draw in Nyon, Switzerland, but a Dutch meeting can only take place in the final on 25 May in Tirana, Albania.

PSV impressed in Copenhagen

Feyenoord reached the last eight of the Conference League on Thursday at the expense of FK Partizan. After the 2-5 win in Serbia, the team of occasional coach John de Wolf won 3-1 on Thursday in their own Kuip, making the Rotterdammers quarterfinalist in Europe for the first time since winning the UEFA Cup in 2002.

PSV made a big impression by winning 0-4 against FC Copenhagen, after the match in Eindhoven had ended in a spectacular 4-4 draw. For the club from Eindhoven, which was previously eliminated in the Europa League, it is the first time in eleven years that they are in the quarter-finals of a European tournament.

AZ and Vitesse were both eliminated in the eighth finals on Thursday. AZ played after extra time a draw against FK Bodø/Glimt (2-2), but that was not enough after the earlier 2-1 defeat in Norway.
