Queen Elizabeth

Hollywood Unlocked has apologized for posting fake news about the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth. The site, which reported Tuesday evening based on sources that the Queen had died, called it an “embarrassing situation” on social media on Wednesday that was caused by an intern.

Hollywood Unlocked wrote that the lifeless body of the 95-year-old queen was found Tuesday before she was to attend the wedding of Vogue editor-in -chief Edward Enninful.

British royalty reporters quickly refuted the ‘news report’. “I hate to tell you this, but that’s not how the death of a monarch is announced,” royal expert Marlene Koenig tweeted. She added that Elizabeth would never attend the editor-in-chief’s wedding either. “She only goes to family weddings.”

The website said Wednesday that the message about Elizabeth’s death accidentally appeared online. “We are working hard to prevent such an error from happening again. The intern was misinformed and accidentally published the draft message.”

Last week, Elizabeth was in close proximity to Prince Charles. Shortly afterwards, he tested positive for the corona virus.

To quell speculation, the British royal family announced in January 2021 that Elizabeth had received the corona vaccine. It is unusual for details about the health of British monarchs to be shared publicly.
