Singer Rihanna has signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Apple TV Plus to produce a documentary that will cover her return to the stage, ahead of her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance.

According to a report in the British newspaper “Sun”, the 34-year-old singer signed the contract shortly after the release of the single Lift Me Upwhich she released last month, part of the soundtrack for the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

“There is a huge appetite for anything Rihanna has, especially as this will be her big return to the stage for the first time in years.”a source familiar with the details told the British newspaper. “Rihanna is a huge force of great importance in the music industry and that’s why Apple paid millions.”

The nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer will be recorded during rehearsals and meetings leading up to the halftime show and will give a glimpse into her life following her return to the music industry as a mother. Last May, Rihanna and her rapper partner Aisap Rocky welcomed their first child together.

The same source added that “Rihanna wants the world to remember why she is one of the greatest artists of all time”. According to him, the planned presentation of the Super Bowl event is expected to be large in line with one of the most watched events in the world.

Performing at the Super Bowl halftime show is a big deal, with the likes of Michael Jackson, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga all having done it in the past.

The next Super Bowl final will be held on February 12, 2023 in Arizona. At the Super Bowl final this year, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem performed together. The halftime show in question won an Emmy Award in the “Live Special Program” category about two months ago.
