Roberta Medina answers audience questions and talks about bringing K-Pop to the festival

This Sunday (22), the last day of the 40th edition of Rock in Rio, the businesswoman in charge of the festival, Roberta Medina, answered some questions from the public, selected by G1.

Regarding the possibility of bringing K-Pop to the event, the businesswoman responded that there had already been an attempt, but that she was unable to adapt the agenda with them. “But you can let us try”said Medina.

G1 selected some questions sent by the festival's audience for the businesswoman to answer.

Regarding the choice of artists, Roberta says that the curation team always takes into consideration what the public wants to see, who are the most desired. She also explains that, before that, in the case of international artists, there is a whole logistics to know if they are on tour, what type of tour, if they have schedule availability, and only then can negotiations begin.

Roberta also responded about the possibility of an “indie day”, with artists like Lorde and Lana Del Rey, saying it was not possible to have everyone in every edition, but that “at some point it arrives”.

The businesswoman also commented on Beyoncé's possible return, “I want it too, send her a message and tell her to come”and Lady Gaga, stating that the festival tries to bring her in every year. Regarding Anitta's arrival, Roberta states that she loves the artist and that “It’s just a matter of us organizing our schedules.”

The public also asked questions about how to make the festival more democratic, and Roberta states that she intends to expand the impact of the festival in the city and that “she will think about it”. Regarding possible improvements to the event's entrance, the businesswoman denied having received complaints about the matter, but will investigate.

The 40th edition of Rock in Rio took place between the 13th and 22nd of September, in Cidade do Rock. The last day of the festival featured artists such as Akon, Ne-Yo, Luísa Sonza, Mariah Carey, Ney Matogrosso and Shawn Mendes, who closed the event with his performance on Palco Mundo.
