Russians seem to be stuck in Ukraine
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has stalled on most fronts, a British intelligence agency says. Ukrainian authorities report more than 50 civilians killed in the city of Chernihiv, while Russia says it will not attack civilian targets. The information has not been independently verified.
According to the British, the Russian troops suffer heavy losses and hardly gain any territory.
Ukraine’s defenses remain fierce and well-coordinated and all major cities remain in Ukrainian hands, intelligence said.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, claiming to disable military infrastructure. The country says it does not want to take any cities or attack civilian targets.

However, Russian attacks in the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv killed 53 civilians on Wednesday, the regional governor said. Among them were also some children. The victims fell, among other things, when an apartment building was bombed.
Ten civilians are also said to have been shot while queuing for bread.
Russia says its military personnel were not in the city and claims the attack was carried out by Ukrainian troops or a ruse by Ukrainian intelligence.
“We are suffering heavy losses,” said Governor Vyacheslav Tsjaus. Russian troops attempt to take Chernihiv.
The encircled city has been dealing with heavy attacks for days. Many residents are without electricity.
