This Thursday (15), Sam Smith officially announced on social media his partnership with singer Iza to re-record “Lay Me Down”, one of the biggest hits of the artist's career. After speculation, the singer finally made public the feat with the 33-year-old Brazilian.

10 years of Sam Smith

The 32-year-old London singer celebrates, in 2024, 10 years of a successful career in the world of music. “In The Lonely Hour” put Sam Smith in the music industry's biggest spotlight. With big hits like “Stay With Me”, “I'm Not The Only One” and “Lay Me Down”, the artist's debut album was relentless.

However, even before debuting the production of 10 songs, the British singer's voice and falsettos had already won over many people. Alongside the electronic band Disclosure, the singer provided voice for one of the biggest productions by the Lawrence brother duo. Thus, on October 9, 2012, the world had an irreversible contact with Sam Smith's art with the release of the song “Latch”.

With the success of the 2014 production, the London artist won the Grammy for song of the year in 2015 with “Stay With Me”. Not satisfied, Sam left that year's awards with four Grammys to put on the shelf, one of them for “Best New Artist”. Having been absent for almost 10 years, the singer returned to the list of winners only in 2023, with the hit “Unholy” alongside Kim Petras.

The return of lonely hours

In celebration of 10 years of success that guaranteed success in his professional career, Sam Smith announced on June 12th this year the return of the album “In The Lonely Hours”. By redoing the cover photo of the original edition, the singer confirmed the re-recording of the songs.
