Sasha Meneghel talks about how it feels to be called “Nepo Baby”

This Monday (10), Sasha Meneghel held the launch event for her new clothing brand, Mondepars. After the celebration, which was attended by many artists, Sasha answered some questions from the press about the criticism she has received for being considered “privileged”, stating that she is a “Nepo Baby”.

“I’m Nepo Baby, yes. I recognize the privilege I have. I am immensely privileged to be able to bring together so many incredible people here. For contacts that I naturally received in my life for being a Nepo Baby. I recognize all of this. What will I do with this, with the opportunities I have at hand?” declared Sasha.

Xuxa Meneghel's daughter also highlighted that since she was a child she has received criticism regarding her privileges as the daughter of artists, but that, at the same time, she also receives a lot of love, thus clinging to the constructive feedback she receives.

The term “Nepo Baby” is a variation of the noun “nepotism” whose meaning is to have some type of favoritism towards a relative or close friend in situations of employment or political choices, more precisely it is the favoring of kinship ties, thus replacing the evaluation on merit.
