SAU Swim takes to the catwalks a collection inspired by the book “Aurora”

For its second show on the catwalks of São Paulo Fashion Week, SAU Swim, a brand from Ceará founded in 2021, presents a collection inspired by the book “Aurora: O Despertar da Mulher Exausta”, by Marcela Ceribelli, published by HarperCollins.

Divided into five chapters that reference the book, the concept of the parade explored deep themes of the female experience, such as the relationship with anxiety, gender roles and the guilt that accompanies a woman's journey, culminating in an optimistic chapter of rebirth and freedom.

In addition to highlighting the book on the catwalk, each chapter was marked by voiceovers from the CEO and creative director of the Brazilian media platform Obvious, bringing even more power and proximity to the narrative.

“Seeing my words come to life on the SAU catwalk is exciting. It's a way to transform this story into something visual, tangible and that really connects people in a deeper way, especially since the parade also brings together women who represent this movement.”says Marcela.

AURORA by SAU

Inspired by the pains and pleasures of being a woman today, the brand's founders, Marina Bitu and Yasmin Nobre, brought the essence of female awakening to SAU's Alto Verão 24/25 in 24 looks. Pieces with tangled red threads, gradient prints, braided fabrics, organic metal details and floral shapes are some of the choices made to represent the rebirth, authenticity and strength of the contemporary woman. The shoes, designed by Brizza Arezzo, brought to the moment options that speak to this woman, who seeks comfort, functionality and identity, including options characteristic of the brand, such as the Morocco Line. Thus, the October 18th parade became an invitation to reflect on personal journeys and an encouragement for women to discover their strength and authenticity.

The AURORA collection by SAU, inspired by the mythology of the goddess Aurora, which heralds the beginning of a new day, seeks to reflect the light and rebirth of contemporary women. Just as the goddess opens the gates to the sun, SAU Swim, in partnership with Marcela Ceribelli, offers a new perspective: that of women who face their daily battles with courage and resilience, finding strength and beauty in the process of rediscovering themselves .

The parade began with the chapter “Exausta”, which brings references to feelings such as anxiety, fear and courage. With 8 looks, the pieces allude to the mapping of an anxious brain, mental confusion and urgency, as well as the interdependence between fear and courage. The second was titled “Difficult Women” and focuses on the emotional work attributed to women and the visible and invisible weights of female existence, addressing gender issues in the job market and wage inequality.

The third was a tribute to the content platform Chapadinhas de Endorfina, also from Obvious, and is called “O Novo Espelho”, with more sporty options. The fourth and penultimate chapter, “How Long Does Love Last?”, explored new perspectives on love, female pleasure, monogamy, jealousy and insecurities, highlighting the erogenous zones of the female body.

Finally, “Trust Your Process” encouraged women to overcome frustrations, embrace the new and leave their comfort zone, seeking happiness in their daily lives. This chapter is represented by light, light fabrics and floral shapes, symbolizing blossoming and personal transformation.

Born in Ceará, a region rich in cultural heritage, SAU translates through the collection its plurality of influences that shape its essence — from local manual arts to the strength of its women.
