1 – Activate Screen Time settings

Cell phone theft often occurs when the person is using the device in a public place. This way, the criminal can gain access to the unlocked device and its data. To prevent this from happening, turn on Screen Time settings.

To do this, click on “Settings”, then go to “Usage Time” and finally tap on “Content and Privacy”. Therefore, you must enter a password different from the one used to unlock the iPhone. Then, scroll down and select “Do Not Allow” for alternatives such as Face ID, Code, Cellular Data and Accounts. Thus, the criminal is unable to make changes. If you want to change your Face ID or password, you need to disable them.

2 – Block the Control Center

The Control Center can be used by criminals to put the device in airplane mode or deactivate the signal, preventing it from being tracked by the owner. Therefore, it is important to block it and allow access only through Face ID.

Then, access “Settings”, tap “Face ID and Code”, scroll to the bottom and deactivate the available options, such as Wallet, Control Center and Notification Center.

3 – Activate Stolen Device Protection

The iPhone has the Stolen Device Protection feature. By activating it, you ensure that passwords and Face ID can only be modified after one hour of the first biometric authentication in unknown locations.

Another important point of this feature is that it causes the device to require authentication for critical device actions, such as modifications to settings.

Are you going to activate it? Tap “Settings”, then go to “Face ID and Code”, drag the cell phone screen down and click “Stolen Device Protection”. Lastly, press activate.

4 – Create traps for criminals

Influencers Vic Gabar and Paulo Aguiar taught a trap to prevent criminals from accessing banking applications. They explained that a very efficient idea is to add a shortcut and make the cell phone automatically lock when the criminal touches the protected app.

So, access the “Shortcuts” application, tap “Automation”, use the search bar and type App, select this option and tap “Run Immediately”. Then, click “Next” and type “Lock Screen”. If you need to unlock the app, you will have to enter a six-digit password.
