Brazil in the games

That year, Brazil won 3 golds, 7 silvers and 10 bronzes, totaling 20 medals and also finishing in 20th place. Despite the small number, the Brazilians outdid themselves by winning podiums in events that had never been won before, such as Judo, Taekwondo and Canoeing. Another innovation of these games was that all the gold medals were won by women and overall they received more medals than the men.
