Karim Benzema, teammate of the player in the France team, would have played a role of intermediary between the criminals and him and after several years of proceedings, the Madrid was sentenced to 1 year in prison suspended and € 75,000 fine.

While many expected Karim Benzema to appeal this sanction, the striker who returned to the Blues last year decided to leave it at that, closing a 7-year-long case.

If he had a lot of bitterness following this story, Mathieu Valbuena now seems more appeased and assures that he is no longer “angry” and even goes so far as to plead for Karim Benzema to be the next recipient of the Ballon d’Or.
