R&B singer R. Kelly, who for more than 25 years faced charges of sexually abusing dozens of young victims without consequence, was finally found guilty of felonies of sexual abuse and prostitution on Monday.

Two months before his trial began, attorneys Steve Greenberg and Michael Leonard resigned, and the trial continued on August 18, 2021 in New York.

On September 27, after two days of deliberations, a jury found the American singer guilty of nine charges. The charges include one count of extortion and eight violations of the Mann Act, which regulates trafficking of women for pleasure, prostitution or other immoral acts.
