Shakira sweeps the floor with ex Pique – That Shakira and her ex footballer Gerard Piqué did not break up as friends is evident from her new single. On the collaboration Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 with producer Bizarrap, her ex, who would have cheated, gets a lot of it. And Shakira also scores her biggest worldwide hit in a long time with it.

“So much time in the gym, but maybe you should also train your brain.” These are unmistakable words that Shakira sings on her new song. The singer and the former top football player met in 2010 on the set of Shakira’s music video for Waka Waka (This Time For Africa). The two had a relationship until the summer of 2022. When announcing the breakup, no reason was given, although there were immediately rumors about cheating of the footballer. In the chorus, Shakira sings that a she-wolf like her (referring to her 2009 hit She Wolf) isn’t for “men like you.” She indirectly mentions her ex by name when she uses the Spanish word salpique (wet splashing). When pronouncing the word, she drops in the middle of a silence, so the emphasis is on her ex’s name. Rumor has it that Piqué already had an affair with Chia Marti before his relationship with Shakira ended. The singer refers to the new girlfriend of her ex as her “so-called replacement”. “I’m worth two 22-year-olds,” 45-year-old Shakira refers to the much younger Chia Marti. “You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo.
