Shawn Mendes releases two new songs for new album

This Thursday (8), Canadian singer Shawn Mendes announced the release of two new solo songs, which will be part of the new album being produced by the singer, which will have its official debut later this year. It is Mendes' first studio album since 2020 and the singer's first two songs in 2024.

New songs and new album debut

The songs titled “Why Why Why” and “Isn't That Enough”, released on the singer's birthday, will be present on the album “Shawn”, which according to the artist himself on social media, will debut to the public on the 18th of October, with a total of 12 new tracks, marking their official return after being on hiatus for the last year.

Personal problems in recent years

When he announced his new album, on July 31st, Shawn Mendes made a strong outburst about why he had been silent for so long, saying that two years ago, he didn't even know who he was anymore and that a year ago, he didn't even know who he was. I could walk into a studio without panicking. He also stated that music was his medicine.

Still in the post, Shawn made a point of thanking the people who are close to him, such as family and friends, and who helped the singer overcome the difficult times he has experienced in the last two years.

“Honestly, thank God for my friends and family. Life can be brutal, but having a small group of people you deeply trust guiding you makes everything better. I have no idea how I would have survived the last two years, let alone make an album, without you.”

“Shawn” will be the singer’s fifth studio album, who already released “Handwritten” in 2015; “Illuminate”, in 2016; “Shawn Mendes”, in 2018 and “Wonder”, in 2020. All four albums debuted in the top 1 of the Billboard charts, being the youngest artist in history to achieve this feat, at 22 years old.
