Singer Lee Towers has broken his hip. The 76-year-old singer has had surgery in the past week and has received a new hip.
Towers has to rehabilitate in the coming weeks. He has confirmed a message about this from the AD. “An accident is in a small corner,” says the Rotterdam singer, whose real name is Leendert Huijzer.
“I accidentally tripped over a carpet,” Towers says. “It was very painful. But we’re going to fight. We’re going to get on top of it.”

After the fall, Towers was immediately taken by ambulance to Erasmus MC. That same evening he was operated on. He now walks with a walker.
Because of the accident, Towers had to cancel a long holiday to Curaçao. He moved from The Hague to Rotterdam last autumn and, in his own words, was very much looking forward to a few weeks of rest.
