snapchat subscriptions – Snapchat has started testing a paid subscription called Snapchat Plus internally, a spokesperson confirmed to The Verge on Friday. Among other things, this gives people faster access to new functions of the app.
The spokesman does not disclose many details. “With a paid subscription, we can share exclusive, experimental and early features,” she says. “We can also learn from subscribers which features they prefer to see in Snapchat.”
App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi has found more information. He writes on Twitter that the subscription currently costs 4.59 euros per month or 45.99 euros per year. Those prices are subject to change.
Snapchat Plus allows people to label another as a best friend. That person will always remain at the top of the messages. In addition, subscribers get access to exclusive Snapchat icons, they can see where their friends were in the last 24 hours, and they get insight into how many friends have seen their Stories multiple times.

Other social media platforms are also working on subscription services. For example, Twitter released its Blue subscription in the first countries last year. This allows people, for example, to retrieve sent tweets or adjust the app icon.
Chat service Telegram is also working on a subscription service, which may appear later this month. The subscription gives users access to exclusive stickers, an animated profile picture and faster downloads, among other things.
