Sony reportedly struck exclusive deals with Konami involving the alleged Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, Silent Hill, and possibly a new Castlevania.
The information was disclosed by Shpeshal Nick, from Xbox Era, and Jez Corden, from Windows Central. At the latest episode of the Xbox Era podcast, Nick said that while his source isn’t entirely sure, the Snake Eater remake could be shown at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, which will apparently take place in late May or early June, and there’s some sort of exclusivity with Sony. Jez Corden went to twitter say you heard something similar.
“Heard something similar about Metal Gear PlayStation exclusivity,” he wrote. When asked if this was the game Bluepoint Games is working on, Corden said he wasn’t sure about that and added that he just heard that Sony closed exclusives with Konami involving Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and perhaps a new Castlevania.
In the case of the remake of Silent Hill 2, the game was announced only for PS5 and PC. It is already known that it will be exclusive to Sony’s console in video games for at least a year. Perhaps something similar has been agreed with Konami for the other games in the franchise that have been announced.
If there’s a PlayStation Showcase later this month or early June, the official announcement should come soon.
