Spotify predicts based on streaming figures of the candidates that Italy will win the Song Contest. Jeangu Macrooy closes the top ten with Birth of A New Age.

Spotify listening data from the past two months shows that Maneskin’s Zitti E Buoni is the most listened to worldwide. In the Netherlands, the song is in third place in the list of most listened to Eurovision songs, behind Birth Of A New Age and the French entry Voilà (Barbara Pravi).

The international top three is completed by the Swedish song Voices , sung by Tusse, and the Finnish band Blind Channel with Dark Side.

Duncan Laurence, who announced on Thursday that he had been tested positive for the corona virus and therefore cannot perform during the final, has the most streamed Eurovision song of all time on Spotify with Arcade . He recently overthrew Euphoria of Loreen, the Swedish winning song in 2012. Arcade has 156 percent more streams than Euphoria.

With the prediction of Spotify, it can be noted that the streams mainly come from the artist’s home country, while in the Eurovision Song Contest it is not possible to vote for the home country (the Netherlands cannot give points to Jeangu Macrooy in the final). For example, Italy sends the winner of the Sanremo Festival, the largest musical event in the country, to the Eurovision Song Contest, which is accompanied by many streams.

Mahmood, the Italian entry that came second behind Duncan Laurence in 2019, also had more streams than the Dutch entry at the time of the festival that year.
