Taylor Swift dominates awards at MTV EMA 2022 and Anitta wins Latin category

This Sunday night (13th) the big MTV EMA 2022 awards took place, with singer Taylor Swift being the star of the night, winning four awards. Also highlighted was Brazilian singer Anitta, who beat Shakira and Rosalia to win in the “Best Latin Artist” category. The ceremony featured couple Rita Ora and Taika Waititi as presenters and took place in Dusseldorf, Germany, full of presentations.

The American singer reaffirmed her success and was the most successful of the night, Taylor Swift won four categories, namely: “Best Artist”, “Best Pop Artist”, “Best Video” and “Best Long Format Video” due to the clip “All Too Well” (10 Minute Version).

The artist, in her speech when she received the “Best Artist” award, praised the other competitors and made a point of thanking the public: “First of all, I just want to say that I have so much respect and admiration for my fellow nominees. I wanted to tell the fans that I had an album recently released called 'Midnights,' and I'm so impressed. You have no idea how much it means to me do this as a career.” Said the singer.

When he was awarded “Best Long Format Video”Taylor explained the fact that the “All Too Well” video almost didn't happen: “You know, sometimes I think about all the ways this short film and this moment almost never happened (…) There are so many ways this almost never happened. You know the earliest version of this song was released 10 years ago, it was never a single. It was never meant to be a video, much less a short film.”. She finished by thanking Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brienn. “Plus this never would have happened without Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, I will say forever”. Completed.

Brazil with representatives

Those who also emerged victorious from the ceremony were the Brazilian singers Manu Gavassi and Anitta, the former won in the “Best Brazilian Artist” category, where she competed with Anitta herself, as well as Xamã, Gloria Groove and L7nnon. It was the second year in a row that Gavassi won the category, she thanked her fans as voting is popular. “I can’t even believe we won again. This means that you are very incredible, that you respect me, no matter the stage or what I want to create artistically. I feel at my freest and happiest with what I do. So, thank you very much for this gift, for this hug you gave me again”. Said the singer.

Anitta won the “Best Latin Artist” category, where she competed with giants of Latin music such as Rosalía and Bad Bunny, as well as Becky G, J Balvin and Shakira. The Brazilian continues to break records.
