Taylor Swift film surpasses $100 million in pre-sales

Even before hitting the big screen, the film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” is already a success, last Thursday (5) the distributor AMC Theaters informed “Variety” that the film of the singer's current tour has already raised more than US$ 100 million in pre-sales of tickets.

The advance sales calculation includes not only AMC cinemas, but all film screening locations around the world. According to the publication, more than 8,000 cinemas in 100 countries show the production.

The feature film premieres on October 13th and will be 2 hours and 48 minutes long. The premiere of the film will take place on October 11th, in Los Angeles, and arrives in Brazil on November 3rd through Trafalgar (distributor).

The film promises to bring a cinematic experience full of records of “The Eras Tour” which began in March this year.

Coming from the tour to Brazil

Taylor will soon disembark in Brazil with “The Eras Tour”she performs at Engenhão, in Rio de Janeiro, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of November and at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, on the 24th, 25th and 26th of the same month.

With the tour, Taylor celebrates all of her eras, highlighting the latest ones since she was unable to go on tour due to Covid-19.

The singer divided her performances into acts and created scenarios that reflect each album. The most evident acts are “Lover” (2019), “Folklore” (2020), “Evermore” (20202) and “Midnights” (2022) and goes back to the singer's oldest eras such as “Taylor Swift” (2006), “Fearless” (2008), “Speak Now” (2010), “Red” (2012) “1989” (2014) and “Reputation” (2017).

According to Forbes, the “The Eras Tour” could make the most profitable tour in history, generating US$1.5 billion (approximately R$7.3 billion) in tickets sold, this estimate is valid until March 2024 when the singer is finishing her tour. If predictions are correct, Taylor will unseat Elton John, who currently holds the title of highest-grossing tour, Elton grossed US$939 million with his last tour to “Farewell Yellow Brick” series of shows that the singer did before retiring.
