Taylor Swift sold more than 1.2 million albums in three days, according to Billboard

The Billboard album chart will only be updated next Sunday, October 30th, however the North American publication has already informed the public that Taylor Swift sold more than 1.2 million albums until last Sunday (23rd). The data is part of Luminate's initial report, which dictates the ranking.

To date, data shows that traditional sales of Taylor's new album “Midnights” comprise more than 995,000 across all available formats, including digital, CD, cassette and vinyl variants. According to the publication, Taylor sold approximately 500 thousand copies of vinyl LPs of this new release, becoming a record.

With just three days of release, “Midnights” already has the biggest week overall, by equivalent album units, for any album since “Reputation”, another album by the singer, which debuted with 1.238 million in its first week in December 2017 With this new release, Taylor achieved the biggest vinyl album sales week in the modern era since 1991.

According to information from Billboard, in the first three days, the album's 20 songs generated more than 284 million official on-demand audio and video streams combined in the United States. This sum is the third biggest streaming week for an album in 2022, by total streams. The biggest week of streams this year was recorded by “Un Verano Sin Ti” by Bad Bunny, with more than 350 million.

The total number of sales of Taylor's new album “Midnights” is expected to increase in the coming days, as the tracking week for its debut on the Billboard 200 ends only next Thursday (27).
