The player named gymnast86 posted his full gameplay on YouTube (below). To explain how he managed to finish the game so quickly, he published a second video in which he gives more details about what he did.
Most of the tricks he used are new, he says, because many of those that worked in Breath of the Wild apparently were patched by Nintendo.
His record is sure to be beaten again and again in the coming days, weeks, months and years as speedrunners discover new ways to finish the game faster.
