DC's new phase in theaters is about to begin. In theaters, the debut comes with Superman: Legacy, scripted and directed by James Gunn, whose production is already underway. With other projects confirmed by Gunn and Peter Safran, presidents of DC Studios, another major project was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the portal's exclusive, one of the most renowned in the Hollywood Industry, James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing a live-action film about the Teen Titans, a famous team of superheroes from comic books and, mainly, from television.
The Teen Titans film is already being planned and there is even a screenwriter linked to the project: Ana Nogueira, the same one who will be responsible for the script for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The heroine, Clark Kent's cousin, will appear in Superman: Legacy, with actress Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) playing Kara Danvers. However, it is another project that does not yet contain many details and continues to be developed.

Teen Titans in comics
The team, in the comics, was founded in the 60s by co-creator Bob Haney. At the time, the group was codenamed “Turma Titã” and included a child version of the Justice League, with Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad. The comic became a sales success, which led to new stories focusing on Turma Titã, with the additions of the heroes Speedy and Moça Maravilha.
In the 80s, the situation changed considerably, with a new aspect of the comics world demanding more serious stories. Starting with the name, changed to “Teen Titans”, Robin ended up taking on another nickname, called Nightwing, while the other members of the team left, making room for other DC heroes: Cyborg, Ravenna, Starfire and Beast Boy. The “old” members, as the stories progressed, sometimes appeared to support the group.
From comics to screen
It was with this lineup from the 80s, led by comic artists Marv Wolfman and George Perez, the most emblematic and beloved by DC fans, both old and, especially, new. This is due to the adaptation of the comics into the animated series “Teen Titans in Action!”, from 2013 to 2022, which was a huge success on TV Globinho, becoming famous all over the world and attracting new eyes to the heroes and DC . The series had more than 400 episodes released and 2 derivative films shown in cinemas.
A live-action series from Max and Netflix about Teen Titans was also produced, but it did not achieve the same success. The series had 4 seasons, starting in 2018 and ending in 2023, introducing several DC characters, such as Red Hood, Barbara Gordon, Blackfire, Superboy, Wonder Girl, Prey and Dove.
