The evidence in the black George Floyd death case

WASHINGTON – US President Joe Biden finds the evidence in the black George Floyd death case overwhelming. He said to pray for the correct verdict.

Biden stated that he was able to speak openly about the ongoing high-profile trial because the jury has seceded to consider the guilt question. On Monday, the president spoke with family of Floyd, a 46-year-old African American who died in a heavy-handed arrest by a white cop. Biden got in touch to show his support.

The president said he felt pressure and fear among the relatives. As he spoke to the family, the next stage of the high-profile arrest trial began and the jury began deliberations.

A brother of Floyd said after the conversation that the president also knows what it is like to lose a family member, referring to the death of Biden’s first wife and two of his children. He understands “what we’re going through now,” Philonise told NBC News. “He just let us know that he was praying for us and that he hoped everything would be okay.”

On Tuesday, the jury in the trial will reconsider the fate of 45-year-old Derek Chauvin, the now-fired police officer who pressed a knee on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes. The event in the city of Minneapolis in late May last year, of which dramatic images appeared on social media, sparked protests in the United States and elsewhere against police brutality and racism.
