Last Tuesday (8), the film “The Hunger Games: A Song of Birds and Snakes” gained a new teaser. The plot, derived from the original “Hunger Games” franchise, takes place 64 years before the stories of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in the arenas and will have Coriolanus Snow (Toma Blyth) as the protagonist, a character who in the future will become President Snow, great executioner from Katniss. This time, the heroine of the original plot should not appear in the new film.
The new teaser
In the new preview released, the public is introduced to new characters in a kind of advertisement for the Capital Academy. In the video, Academy members welcome the newcomers who will join the Academy. The advertisement shows Casca Highbottom (Peter Dinklage), Dr. Volumnia Gaul (Viola Davis), Coriolanus Snow and Sejanus Plinth (Josh Andrés Rivera) welcoming and telling us a little about the experience of being part of the Academy. Plot
“The Song of Birds and Snakes” is based on the book by Suzanne Collins, also author of the original saga. The new film is a prologue to the original stories, which feature Katniss Everdeen as the main character.
The new plot takes place in the capital of Panem and has Coriolanus Snow, an Academy mentor, as the protagonist. Snow is tasked with guiding the young tribute from District 12, Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler (Amor, Sublime Amor) and who was selected to participate in the Hunger Games. Now, Snow must be careful with every decision she makes, as any deviation could influence what will happen to her champion inside the arena.
The film is directed by Francis Lawrence. She also directed the last 3 films in the franchise. The script was produced by Suzanne Collins herself and Michael Arndt, who also participated in the script for the film “Catching Fire”, the second in the original saga.
“The Hunger Games: A Song of Birds and Snakes” is scheduled to be released on November 15th in Brazilian cinemas.
