After convincing the coaches of The Voice, Amel Bent, Florent Pagny, Marc Lavoine and Vianney during the blind auditions, a new competition begins for the Talents. Saturday, April 2, 2022 took place the first battles of the season.
In groups of two, the contestants competed on the same song. And all was not lost for the vanquished since the Theft of Talents was possible! Every coach has the right to save a candidate.
This year, there is also Nolwenn Leroy who entered the competition. The surprise coach had the opportunity to draft four disappointed Talents at the blind auditions to form two battles.

VIANNEY TEAM (The Voice 2022, the battles)
Battle between Axel and Nyr
For his first battle, Vianney chose to have the youngest of his team Axel and Dean Nyr compete on Bruno Mars’ title, Locked Out Of Heaven. Together, they showed a crazy energy, all in synchronization and symbiosis. Everyone also had the opportunity to highlight their voice signature.

Battle between Paloma and Louise (The Voice 2022, the battles)
Vianney opted for Lomepal’s Trop beau title for this new battle. A title not too appreciated by its candidates Louise and Paloma, who were even rather dissipated during the rehearsals while they could not find their way through the notes. Vianney, who struggled to channel them, then had to reframe them so that they could form the incredible duo he imagined.
The challenge was met with flying colours according to him and he could not have been more proud, running to hug them at the end of the performance. The choice was therefore very difficult for him to make. He finally decided to keep Louise. She has an appointment at cross-battles.
FLORENT PAGNY’S TEAM
Battle between Nour and Émilie
Two very young candidates competed for the rest of the adventure, Nour and Émilie. They sang on Clara Luciani’s song, Grenada. It was by videoconference that the coach had to prepare this battle with them since he was suffering from Covid-19.
This did not prevent him from making some remarks to his Talents, in particular so that there is more interaction between them and that their voices are more easily disentangled.
His advice paid off as on stage, Nour and Émilie delivered a perfect interpretation. Difficult for all to decide between them even if unanimously, they noted that the youth of Nour (16 years old) had made him a little lacking despite his great mastery. For her part, Emilie let herself be invaded by stress. Florent Pagny still made his choice and decided to keep Nour. She has an appointment at cross-battles.
Vianney and Marc Lavoine buzzed for Émilie to be drafted into the adventure. She joined Vianney’s team for cross-battles but nothing is played, he can decide to steal another talent and therefore replace her.
Battle between Maggy, Natalie and Jade (The Voice 2022, the battles)
As he was a little greedy during the blind auditions by recruiting more Talents than he could, Florent Pagny had to deal with an odd team. So it’s a three-way battle that he formed with Maggy, Natalie and Jade.
Three divas who sang on the title of the diva Aretha Franklin, Think. “Top level” as Florent Pagny said. Impossible for the coach to decide between them at the level of technique, his choice then fell on the voice he liked the most, that is to say that of Jade. She has an appointment at cross-battles.

Battle between Nabila and Vike
It was then the turn of Nabila and Vike to go on stage as a duet on Ne me quitte pas by Jacques Brel. Amel Bent decided to associate them so that they could get naked, they who kept a certain modesty during their blind auditions.
A difficult exercise for Nabila who “feels a little lost” during rehearsals. But as one could imagine, the two candidates offered a very moving performance.
Amel Bent was upset to the point of having tears in her eyes. “You transport me, you feed me, both in your own way, it’s wonderful,” she said. The singer ended up keeping Vike. He has an appointment at cross-battles.

Battle between Lisa and Doryan
Lisa has the tone of voice that has touched Amel Bent the most this season. Despite some small mistakes caused by stress during her casting, the singer could not miss her very pronounced vocal identity. Doryan, on the other hand, had made an impact with his energy and his way of embodying the songs.
They competed on The Weeknd’s Save your tears and completely managed to manage their stress. “I’m super proud of you,” bent said. At the end of their duet, she decided to keep Doryan. He has an appointment at cross-battles.
NOLWENN LEROY TEAM (The Voice 2022, the battles)
Battle between Jean Palau and Kilian
It is necessarily with great emotion that Jean and Kilian returned to the adventure after failing the blind auditions. Thanks to Nolwenn Leroy, they got another chance to shine on the stage of The Voice and take their revenge against the other four coaches who did not believe in them.
Nolwenn had them sing on Harry Styles‘ Sign of the Times. She was upset and had tears in her eyes. “You were really connected, all the harmonies were in place, it was beautiful, thank you very much,” she said before deciding to choose Jean Palau for the rest of the adventure. The candidate then had to join a new team and he decided to follow Florent Pagny for the cross-battles.
MARC LAVOINE TEAM
Battle between Jerome and Clement
Marc Lavoine proposed a battle rock between Jérôme and Clément, for whom he was each time the only one to turn around. There are two different personalities, one with a haunting voice and the other with a very particular vibration, a little hoarse.
Unconfident of their talent, the two candidates struggle to relax during rehearsals and find their place.
Once on stage, by performing the title Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin, they nevertheless managed to take all the coaches with them. Marc Lavoine decided to keep Clément. He has an appointment at cross-battles.
Battle between Jerome, John and Jules
Having an odd team too, Marc Lavoine had to form a battle of three candidates. Jérôme, Jean and Jules had to sing on Gilbert Bécaud’s Et maintenant. This combination of their singular voices worked very well, creating a great moment of emotion to such an extent that Marc Lavoine’s tears rose.
He decided to keep Jerome for the rest of the adventure. He has an appointment at cross-battles.
