Eighteen years ago, on October 4, 2004, the first episode of the soap opera Rebelde aired in Mexico. Since then, every year on this same date, fans celebrate World RBD Day. With Anahí, Christian Chávez, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann and Alfonso Herrera, the band, which started at a time when the internet was not yet as powerful as it is today and Twitter did not even exist, the phenomenon was established mainly through broadcast television, radio programs, magazines, and of course, through physical albums, and to this day it has passionate fans.

The musical group RBD appeared in a fictional way in the soap opera, but soon officially left the small screen and achieved success and awards all over the world.

Although their career spanned only four years, RBD's achievements were so significant for the music industry, especially in the Latin American music industry, that many of their records remain untouched even today, eighteen years after their breakup. In 2020, fans were treated to the return of the band's original songs on major streaming services. Fans showed that the band can still break records even after years without a new release. The songs soon entered the most sought-after music charts around the world.

Although they officially split up in 2009, the group reunited in December 2020. With only 4 members – Anahi, Maite, Christopher and Christian, they performed a live show called “Ser o Parecer”. According to the Terra portal, around 2.5 million viewers watched the virtual show. The year 2020 was also marked by an unreleased song, which was released a month before the live show, with the song “Siempre He Estado Aquí”

After the live broadcast, there was some speculation about a possible reunion tour for the group, with Brazil being one of the countries that would host the show, but so far no official information has been confirmed.
